Kaladesh Remastered will release with both sealed and draft events on 11/12. Here’s a quick list of your potential haul: If you’re as excited for Kaladesh Remastered as I am, you can preorder the set starting right now and get a bunch of goodies. Here’s my top 10 cards I’m most excited to try in existing Historic decks: In addition to these additions that may spawn new archetypes, there are also a number of Kaladesh cards that are simply really powerful and will slot into existing decks. Overall, I think there could really be something here. Luminarch Aspirant and Scute Swarm are also cool additions to this style of deck. They also offer some incredible advantages over equipment. This brand new card type requires other creatures to operate them, meaning they can’t quite go into every deck and so they look a little like equipment. Through some crazy rules interactions, an x=1 Hydra can become a 5 / 6 with a Scales effect out if you choose to double its stats. Kaladesh is an artifact set, and the biggest news to come out of PAX was of the new Vehicles. The absolute biggest threat with Scales is Voracious Hydra. Having 8 scales effects to Company into is pretty sick. Here’s what a combo oriented mono brown deck might look like with Kaladesh in the mix: Inventor’s Fair is also a great way to tutor up these key pieces, as well as giving you a bit of a life cushion. When you’re comboing off you’ll also need a win condition, and there are non better for a mono brown deck than Aetherflux Reservoir. The Steel can copy Powerstone Shard, as well as other sick artifacts. Conveniently, you can pick up some copies of the Steel in bigger pack bundles. Second, masterpiece Sculpting Steel wasn’t exactly in original Kaladesh, but it was an Invention and it’s officially back in Kaladesh Remastered. First, Paradox Engine is a great way to combo off with Mystic Forge and a bunch of mana rocks. ![]() Kaladesh Remastered offers a couple new goodies to the archetype. “Mono Brown” decks have been popping up in Historic since the printing of Forsaken Monument. It wouldn’t be too expensive to splash red for Harnessed Lightning and Whirler Virtuoso, but I was curious how straight blue green would play out, and it seems like there are plenty of playables. ![]() ![]() Waker of Waves is another flexible card that can help you find Marvel and is also a great hit off Symbiosis. The DFC mythics are absolutely huge here as turning what are normally whiffs (lands) into solid big spells is a big gain.
